Wildflame appoints former BBC Commissioning Executive to lead factual growth

Nick Shearman has joined Cardiff based indie Wildflame Productions to lead its growth in factual production across the UK and internationally.

As a former BBC Commissioning Editor, Nick has been responsible for series such as Grierson-nominated The London Markets, Bruce Parry's Arctic and Nature's Microworlds. Nick also worked at a wide range of UK indies including Tiger Aspect, RDF and Keo, and as a freelance Executive, he produced the first series of The Supervet (Blast! Films/C4), John Bishop's Australia (Lola/BBC1) and The Billion-Pound Hotel (Rize/C4). Nick has produced programmes for all the terrestrial broadcasters as well as Discovery, and his shows have won RTS and Broadcast awards. He has also written two reports for Creative Skillset/Creative Diversity Network on their Commissioner Programmes and has served on Prix Italia, RTS and Grierson Award juries.
